Jordan Cohen, a productivity expert and the Senior Director of Organisational Effectiveness, Learning & Development at Weight Watchers, says “In today’s complex and collaborative workplace, the real challenge is to manage not just your personal workload but the collective one”. While we all strive to improve our personal productivity, we need to take a step back and think about how we work together as a team as that has a more direct relationship with business bottomline.

Slack in our minds provides a great structure to our work days by providing everyone a place to work together. Slack has an array of integrations that make it even more powerful. These are 5 integrations we use daily to make ourselves, here at Pep.AI, more productive as a team.

Setting goals

When team members are aware of each other, productivity soars. Roundtable is a snappy tool using which you can let your whole team know what’s going on if you need any help on something, with daily one-sentence updates. This information may not be pertinent to everyone but it helps you be focussed on what matters to your day.

Collaborate using Trello

Trello is the visual collaboration tool that creates a shared perspective on any project. If you haven’t used Trello before, do give it a try, you will love it more than any other project management system you’ve ever used. It’s slack integration takes team collaboration to the next level.

The Pomodoro technique is a personal productivity system that came about in the late 1980s. The technique uses a timer to break down work into intervals, traditionally 25 minutes in length, separated by short breaks.

Tomatobot is a set of simple commands to add useful tools to track your work using the Pomodoro method. Start work, and receive a message when it’s time to take a break, record your distractions, so you can forget about them until the next break, and record and review exactly what you’ve been working on.

Communicating leaves/downtimes

AttendanceBot for Slack is the simplest way to know when someone is on leave or working from home. Just dm @attendancebot messages like ‘sick today’ or ‘on leave from 11-08 to 14-08’ or ‘WFH tomorrow’ and it will record it and communicate it to everyone to keep everyone in sync.

Effective meeting scheduling

Lets face it. Meetings can be the biggest distraction in a work day. Meekan matches everyone’s calendars, and quickly finds common free times. Just ask Meekan to generate a Doodle poll for your meeting. Get a public link to share with colleagues outside your Slack team, and get their votes on the best time to meet!

Know of any other Slack integration that you use daily? Let us know in the comments. Now back to work 🙂
